Village of Adams (WSYR-TV) - Less than a day after the Village of Adams asked residents to conserve water, they have declared the shortage a state of emergency.

The state of emergency was declared at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The Village says very low levels of water due to recent fires and construction affect users of both the Village of Adams Water System and Adams Center Water District.

The Village says the state of emergency will remain in place until further notice, but that equipment has been acquired through the New York State Emergency Management Office to assist in fixing the problem.

Village of Adams (WSYR-TV) - The Village of Adams is asking customers of both the Village of Adams water and Adams Center Water districts to conserve water. They say that very low levels of water due to recent fires and construction prompted this request.

"If everyone conserves as requested," the Village says, "a water emergency may be avoided."

The Village says the advisory will be in effect until further notice.
