Syracuse(WSYR-TV) - One of the reasons we've been able to keep track of how the virus is spreading in our community is because we check in each week with doctors to see what's going around. For the fourth week in a row, the flu is practically all doctors are seeing.
On the east side of Syracuse, where Dr. Freshman says flu like illnesses is the big thing...the good news, he says is many of his patients have modest fevers between 100 and 102 and are getting over the cough, sore throat and body aches in 3 to 5 days. He's also seeing some children with croup.
In Camillus, Dr. Rovall says her experience with the flu is similar, lower fevers than you'd expect and mostly it's a mild illness. The office is very concerned about having h1n1 vaccine booster shots for the children who are getting their first dose at school.
In Liverpool, the urgent care is seeing flu, pneumonia and upper respiratory infections.
In Pulaski, Dr. Carguello's office is seeing flu, bronchitis and pneumonia.
In Auburn, Dr. Grany’s office says the flu is still going strong, other people just have sore throats and they've seen a number of people with sinus infections.
